Start with LEVEL 1 Yoga – Gentle, beginner friendly yoga
or if you already lead an active lifestyle and have no injuries, start with LEVEL 2 Yoga – Moderate, beginner friendly yoga
Progress to LEVEL 2/3 and LEVEL 3 classes at your pace.

At Yoga On York, we teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga, drawing on the influences of the ancient yoga lineages of Ashtanga and Iyengar blended with today’s modern medical knowledge and current research. Vinyasa (pronounced vin-ya-sa): means “breath-synchronized movement.” This style focuses on linking the breath with movement and is often referred to as a moving meditation. The poses flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath.
Yoga: stems from the Sanskrit word yukti, meaning “union” or “to yoke”. Yoga is the process integrating mind, body, and breath and there by creating an elevated level of mental peace.
Yoga postures tone muscles, improve circulation to the organs and enhance the range of motion of joints. Attention to breath strengthens the respiratory system, calms the nervous system and helps to focus the mind into the present moment. All of these benefits combine to create a powerful tool for health promotion.
